Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord

If you took Xenosaga and mixed it with Final Fantasy Tactics you would probably get something very close to Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord on the Playstation 3. Why do I say that? Extremely long dialogue scenes that will put you to sleep, and then strategy role playing battles from time to time.

The dialogue sections of Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord is almost like one of those video game novels. Except we are not making choices while listening to these characters drone on endlessly. The fact that their voices are in Japanese is the only thing that kept me from dozing. The text is in English so we can read until our eyes are red with exhaustion.

The squat little characters in Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord made me wonder if this was originally a Playstation 2 game ported over to the Playstation 3. The subpar graphics help enhance that video game generation classification. Then there is the people who saw me play the game and asked if it was a PS2 game.

If you read the press releases then you know your main character summons a demon to fight off the church. Why is it Japanese games are constantly attacking the church? At the same time they are promoting and proselytizing their goddess belief. How many video game review sites are discussing on the religious indoctrination in games like Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord?

Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord contains enticement to lust, sexual comments, bad language, blood, violence, alcohol, and tobacco. So much of the rude, ugly, nasty, and hateful comments could have been left out. It would have helped this game tremendously.

Family Friendly Gaming was supposed to receive a physical copy. There was some mistake made by UPS, and it never arrived. Delivering must be too difficult a task for a shipment company. So FFG was provided a download code. Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord clocks in at 3.4 gigs. So if you go the download route make sure you have enough bandwidth with your ISP, and space on your Playstation 3.

The SRPG battles are clunky in their controls. There is no auto seeking when you try to attack something. Even when it is the only thing within your characters range. The poor graphics and color schemes make finding where you are pointing difficult at times. Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord can be difficult. Try it on easy first.

Is Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord hate speech against Christians? That can be a difficult question to answer. There are parts of Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord that certainly could be taken as attacks against Christians. If you are sensitive in this area then definitely pass on Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord.
