The Blue Flamingo
SCORE: 60
The Blue Flamingo is one of the most unique shooters of all time. All
of the objects in The Blue Flamingo are hand crafted. It is almost like
playing a Claymation video game. Only The Blue Flamingo looks better. I
am still trying to figure out how they hand crafted all of those
explosions, and energy shots. Probably special effects and not hand
crafted.
The Blue Flamingo puts a unique twist on the genre in terms of the game
play. You can save up your coins for upgrades, or spend them on
continuing. Do you want to keep going or be more powerful? The choice is
yours. Since there are only a handful of levels that choice is not one
you will need to take often.
I heard The Blue Flamingo was a difficult game. I thought of other
annoying difficult games like Raiden, and Lords of Thunder. The Blue
Flamingo is not that hard. I was actually disappointed in terms of the
difficulty because of what I had heard. The cool thing is more casual
games can get into The Blue Flamingo.
The Blue Flamingo works with a variety of controllers. The default
button layout is a bit weird though. WASD gamers will feel right at home
playing The Blue Flamingo on the keyboard. The levels get a bit
repetitive, and predictable. The Blue Flamingo looks interesting, but it
is dull to play.
The music in The Blue Flamingo is okay. I appreciate Might and Delight
thinking outside the box with The Blue Flamingo. Artsy gamers will get
into The Blue Flamingo because of its look. I hope The Blue Flamingo
gets ported to the home consoles at some point. It could see some
success on them.
