3D Fantasy Zone II W

Sega continues to resurrect their older games in 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. I wish more companies would do that. It is really cool to see that, and it has to cost less in development costs. I hope Sega compiles all of these games onto one cartridge and releases them in the physical format. Like the Sega Genesis Collection disc that is so popular and well respected.

The constraints of downloadable only video games aside, 3D Fantasy Zone II W contains two modes. There is the story mode and the endless mode. The story mode reminds me of Defender. Players must shoot down certain enemies to unlock the boss character. Then they have to defeat the boss to progress. Bosses in this shooter are hard. Practice is required to find the patterns. Sometimes luck helps.

There are options in 3D Fantasy Zone II W on the Nintendo 3DS. Players can make the game easier, give themselves more lives, and more. These are very handy options with a game like 3D Fantasy Zone II W. I really like the music and sounds in 3D Fantasy Zone II W. The colors in this hand held video game are bright and vibrant. We shoot and blow up as many enemies as we can. With this violent content the ESRB was not capable of finding one word in the English dictionary to describe it.

A shop comes by every so often to help the player. Coins are earned from defeating the enemies in 3D Fantasy Zone II W (you will see the coin appear after they explode). These can be spent on a variety of upgrades. I wish some of these upgrades lasted longer, especially after spending so many coins on them. I learned to save the upgrades for the boss characters.

Shooter gamers, and retro gamers will enjoy 3D Fantasy Zone II W on the Nintendo 3DS. Casual gamers might get into 3D Fantasy Zone II W if they adjust the settings. At the time this review was written 3D Fantasy Zone II W is selling for $5.99. 3D Fantasy Zone II W was a bit too hard for me. With that said I did enjoy playing it on our Nintendo 2DS hand held system.
