Family Friendly Gaming was recently provided a download code for App
Game Kit 2.0.15 on Steam. This Personal Computer software allows
hobbyist the ability to create their very own apps and deploy them
across a variety of platforms. Family Friendly Gaming was also provided
the two DLC packs, and the User's Guide. If you have ever wanted to
learn how to program a game, then App Game Kit is a great place to
start.
As a long time programmer I was able to recognize C++, and Java like
components in App Game Kit. I also was able to use App Game Kit to teach
my son some basic programming as well as give him a greater
understanding of what I have done for decades. He now has an interest in
computer programming thanks to App Game Kit. Hopefully he won't tell me
I am giving him Star Trek speak whenever I talk about programming
concepts in the future.
Programming is not for everyone. In fact I do not see App Game Kit as
something casual gamers will get into. App Game Kit is more for those
interesting in understanding how computer programs work. App Game Kit is
also for those who are genuine and serious about making their very own
video games. Please bear in mind what you create in App Game Kit will be
simplistic at first. Everyone has to start somewhere though.
The sample programs in the App Game Kit are extremely valuable. This is
where aspiring game designers can gain an understanding in how programs
work. As you start to learn, you will need to debug, and change content
in multiple places. Save the examples as something else while you learn
so you will always have a backup. Trust me in this since it is valuable
wisdom and advice.
The screens in App Game Kit fit with coding standards I have seen in a
variety of programs. The Mainframe is the one exception. Green text on a
black background can get old though. I like how App Game Kit comes in
the while background, and different colors are used to differentiate
different types of commands. I also appreciate the do loops having a
line showing the start to the finish.
The art you come up with can be used in App Game Kit. The same goes for
the music. If you have an interest in designing your own video games, or
learning about what goes into a game, then App Game Kit could be for
you. The price is fair compared to other programming languages I have
purchased in the past. App Game Kit could be your entrance into the
video game design world.
