Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is a rah, rah story about how important alchemy and witchcraft is. Twenty to thirty years ago such heresy would not have been tolerate in America. There would have been protests in the streets over the concept. There are most likely places in the world where the teachings in Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea still create major turmoil.

The content in Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is similar to the Atelier games, yet for some reason the ESRB has moved the rating from thirteen and older to ten and older. The content in Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is the same as previous games, maybe even a bit worse. Yet the ESRB decided to lower the rating in a highly questionable and very controversial manner. I could find no justification for the major change.

Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea has beautiful music that is ruined with horrible language. Decent dusty graphics that are dragged through the mud with violence and enticement to lust issues. If tobacco offends you then expect Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea to offend you since there are characters that smoke and drink. I wish Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea would celebrate family friendly concepts, morals, and concepts.

Plenty of crafting and witchcraft can be found in Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. You will brew your items, fight enemies, and collect things you find in various locations. I felt like a mailman helping out the various characters in Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. Give this person this item, and that person that item. Go brew something in a cauldron for these characters.

If you want to know what is going on in this trilogy then you need to play all of the other games. If you only play Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea then you will not understand the relationships and personalities of the all the characters. There is a lengthy quest to be found in Atelier Shallie Alchemists of the Dusk Sea if you can get into this game. Not everyone can.
