Baila Latino

Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Baila Latino on the Wii U recently. This downloadable only dance video game clocks in over 2.6 gigs. So if you purchase it make sure you have enough memory on your machine. Some of those Wii U's do not have much space on them. Europe got a physical copy of Baila Latino. Americans do not rate high enough to get a physical copy I guess.

There are twenty Spanish songs in Baila Latino. I do not speak Spanish. So I am unclear as to whether there are lyrical issues or not. I know many of the Zumba games have a Lyrics descriptor on them. Just Dance video games also have Lyrics as a descriptor. I expect there is some kind of lyrics issue within Baila Latino. The ESRB is rarely reliable, and has been slacking off in recent years.

I am shocked there is no suggestive themes descriptor in Baila Latino. Hips shake in ways much worse than Just Dance video games that have the suggestive themes descriptor. Plus there is all this behind grabbing in Baila Latino. Not sure how the ESRB missed that one, unless they slap ratings on games without actually looking at or playing them. Oh and in Europe there is a twelve and older rating. The equivalent of a thirteen and older rating in the US. Baila Latino makes the ESRB look really incompetent since they gave it an 'E' for Everyone rating.

There is a lack of clothing in some of the dancers in Baila Latino. To go along with the sexually suggestive themes. If you like Latin music then you will probably like the musical selection in Baila Latino. If you don't then this downloadable only home console video game is not for you. Older members of the family can get exercise thanks to Baila Latino. One Wii Remote is needed per player, and then only one arm is really being graded.

The menu screens in Baila Latino can drive families insane. There is so much that has to be redone between each song being played. Like picking your profile again. All of this is done on the Wii U Gamepad. So you move over to it, dance, and move back to get everything set up again. The only thing that kept me going was all of those trophies. Which is where the majority of the content in Baila Latino is.

Baila Latino is not a horrible dance game. More adult only dance moves in my book. The Wii Remote dance controls feel so wrong after dancing on Kinect. I found ways to cheat the dance moves especially when I decided I was not doing those hip thrusts. The graphics in Baila Latino are okay. Not up to par with other modern dance games. The current price drop makes it more appealing with the light content.
