Battleship
SCORE: 66
We have noticed a trend here lately. We are finding all kinds of
Activision video games on the clearance rack. To make matters even more
interesting we had never heard of them before. What does that tell us?
That the PR agency and PR employees representing this company and these
products are failing. We would have happily published coverage of
Battleship on the Nintendo 3DS. As it stand when we find the game for a
good price, we review it.
Family Friendly Gaming Universe can now get interested in Battleship on
the Nintendo 3DS. This game is based off the lame movie by the same
name. Please note Battleship on the 3DS has little to do with the board
game. This is a turn based video game where ships are used to destroy
one another out at sea. Battleship is pretty bland in that regard too.
There are no discernible innovations in this hand held video game.
I would not mind the lack of taste and flavor in Battleship if it
actually was better. Fog of war is way too thick in this game. That
means I had to replay most levels because the game purposely tripped me
up. It said to go a certain direction which was full of enemy ships. I
needed to go around. I learned that lesson over and over again in
Battleship. I replayed almost every single level at least once because
of the poor directions. Or maybe you could say Battleship kept leading
me into traps.
The music in Battleship is cool. I enjoyed listening to it while sinking
the alien ships. Plenty of missiles launch, machine guns fire, and
explosions on ships in this Nintendo 3DS video game. Battleship is so
slow to get started. I loved it when we finally got repair ships. If you
can trudge through the levels you will get your moneys worth. You might
even learn some strategy like swarm enemy ships to take them out.
The modes in Battleship are campaign, skirmish, medals, and options. I
like the different ships in Battleship. There is no leveling up, and
little reason to do well. Winning is the best incentive in Battleship.
Keep your ships together, and never go that far out in Battleship.
Playing it slow and safe is the only way to progress in Battleship.
Which is probably why I found it so boring.
