Bombing Busters
SCORE: 70
When I first heard of Bombing Busters I thought this game sounds so
familiar. But it also felt a little different. This game is on Steam,
and on the Wii U. Sony required a name change from Sanuk Games. See the
original name of Bombing Busters had a profanity word instead of
Busters. Valve and Nintendo were not exactly classy or family friendly
by allowing the profanity name on the marketplace. Sony is the one
actually looking out for families. Which is interesting since Nintendo
is known to be family friendly, and Sony is not. Valve, well their image
is pretty much mud.
Bombing Busters is essentially a modern day Bomberman game. Bombing
Busters captures the essence of Bomberman really well. From getting
yourself trapped and blowing your character up, to the power ups that
make your bombs reach farther out, and more. I love getting more bombs
as a power up personally. That means I can plant more bombs around the
grid based area.
Players are given so much time to kill all of the enemies in Bombing
Busters in the single player mode. There is also a local multiplayer
mode so families can compete in five different arenas. Each of them have
their pitfalls that players will need to look out for. The one with the
black hole was pretty cool in my opinion. It would take away bombs and
power ups as it grew larger in the background.
Families will pay attention to a couple of things with Bombing Busters.
First off is the violence that increases our aggression levels. Then
there is some bad language in this downloadable only home console video
game. I don't know why bad language was a part of Bombing Busters It
makes no sense to me since it will only limit the potential audience,
and in the long run limit sales.
Bombing Busters can be hard, or easy. It all depends on how the maze
populates. It is really random, which means the difficulty in Bombing
Busters is all over the board. I felt Bombing Busters started getting
hard when enemies could teleport around the mazes. It put a real crimp
in my methodical disposal of these odd looking creatures. That reminds
me I don't know why we are blowing them up. Are we some kind of
exterminator?
