Christmas forest

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Christmas forest on the iPad. This ninety-nine cent app is downloadable only. There are no physical copies of Christmas forest to be purchased at any retailer. Christmas forest is a game that is designed for kids. The lesson in Christmas forest is to decorate the Christmas trees for five different animals.

Christmas forest is one of those apps where different things happen depending on where you touch. Once you find an ornament for the Christmas tree then you tap, hold, and drag it to the right spot. There are shadow outlines on each of the Christmas trees. Christmas forest does have a little bit of shape matching in it. This is pretty mild compared to other kids games Family Friendly Gaming has reviewed.

The graphics in Christmas forest are okay. They have a certain flavor to them that I have trouble describing. The animations are limited, but present. The music is neat to hear. There are special effect sounds on each of the objects that are interactive in Christmas forest. I enjoyed some of them more than others. The whole Christmas Eve mood is present and accounted for in this iPad app.

The downside to Christmas forest is it is really short. I did everything that could be done in five to ten minutes. So it was a bit of a bummer. The language can be changed to reach kids from different countries. I accidentally tapped on that on the main screen and had to cycle through all the different languages to get it back to English. The country flag is how we tell what language we are using.

Christmas forest is designed for kids ages two through six. Apple slapped a four and older age rating. They also have a note that Christmas forest is for ages five and under. That certainly sends conflicting messages. We let some kids try out Christmas forest on the iPad. They enjoyed it for about ten minutes and then they moved on. They liked the animals, and the music in this app.
