Citizens of Earth
SCORE: 62
The biggest RPG release of the year thus far has arrived. All the
Daniel Bryan fans are screaming YES! YES! YES! because Atlus has
released Citizens of Earth on the Personal Computer, Nintendo 3DS,
Playstation Vita, Wii U, and Playstation 4. Sorry Xbox fanboys you got
no love - at least not yet. But is this RPG any good for families?
Citizens of Earth is similar to the well known, and occasionally
discussed Earthbound games. Family Friendly Gaming has asked for someone
else to make a similar game for years now. Eden Industries and Atlus
finally listened to our voice. To be fair Family Friendly Gaming Nation
is probably not the only ones asking for this kind of a game.
In Citizens of Earth players take control of the Vice President (VP for
short). He collects a team of up to three members at a time to fight for
him. In fact he will tell you that you need to protect him. The VP in
Citizens of Earth says many less than intelligent things just like the
current VP Joe Biden. The VP in Citizens of Earth looks much younger
though.
Along the way we find a variety of different characters we can recruit
in Citizens of Earth. Some are better than others in certain areas, and
against certain enemies. Others have really cool special abilities like
the used car salesman - he lets us all in a car and drive on roads.
Which shortens the time it takes to get places. The pilot is an even
better character since she can take us to helicopter pads.
Parents need to be notified there is some off color humor in Citizens of
Earth. There is also plenty of good, clean humor in Citizens of Earth.
There are all kinds of strange and odd creatures in Citizens of Earth.
There is also role playing violence, and the family destroyer gambling.
There is a crazy amount of customization in Citizens of Earth. We can
make fights easier, or harder. We can swap around party members, we can
change the time, weather, and more. Explore all over the maps in
Citizens of Earth because you can get experience for looking at a
painting.
Citizens of Earth is a downloadable only video game. Which is a shame
because this is the kind of a video game that belongs on a
disc/cartridge, and to be carried in retail chains. Citizens of Earth is
safer than some of the role playing games on the market, and it brings
its own unique flavor. Only for adults though.
