Cube Creator 3D
SCORE: 70
I play Minecraft on the Personal Computer, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and
iPad. I am one of those hostile toward Microsoft for buying Mojang. I
really wanted Minecraft on the Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS. I liked what I
saw in the demo for Cube Creator 3D. In my mind Cube Creator 3D is like
a Minecraft Mini. The worlds are smaller in Cube Creator 3D - this is a
hand held after all.
There are two main modes in Cube Creator 3D - Survival, and Creative.
Players can pick a world style in Creative and build to their hearts
content. Survival is much more difficult. You will need to make a
shelter, find resources, and craft tools. Early on the tools break
really quickly in Cube Creator 3D. Also you need to create a wood
version before creating a stone version. There are plenty of resources
to gather in this game.
There are also monsters. They will attack you, so be on guard when you
are out and about. Hunting animals is essential in Cube Creator 3D. That
is one of the ways your hearts will restore your health. Sleeping at
night is another major way to get hearts back. Ultimately you can create
the world you want in Cube Creator 3D. Sadly you will be the only one to
see it though.
I wish there was some way to invite others to see your worlds in Cube
Creator 3D. Or some way to share the world you created with others. Cube
Creator 3D is also a downloadable only video game. Maybe Big John Games
will follow Mojang in releasing physical copies in the future. I can
hope can't I? I love supporting the physical copy movement.
My one complaint about Cube Creator 3D is the controls. They take a lot
to get used to. Especially in combat against a flying enemy that shoots
bolts of energy at you. Do not try to fight until you have a stone
sword. The worse equipment you have the harder it is to mine, or fight.
Enemies vanish with a puff and leave behind something. Like a cow will
leave behind beef which you can cook. Just need to craft the furnace.
Crafting in Cube Creator 3D is really cool. You do it on a bottom screen
of the Nintendo 3DS. Just make sure no monsters are nearby, or you may
lose your items. You can come back and find your bag and regain your
stuff. The music in Cube Creator 3D is nice, and the sounds are
distinctive. Cube Creator 3D can be played without sound, but that sets
you at a great disadvantage since monsters are usually heard before they
are seen.
