Dolphin Up

Dolphin Up is the most recent app port over to the Wii U to enter Family Friendly Gaming Nation. This downloadable only video game shows its app roots. Players have two minutes to score as many points as possible. Then you can compare your results on leaderboards. Which can be encouraging or depressing.

I recommend that all gamers who play Dolphin Up start in the Tutorial. You will learn what to do in Dolphin Up to score points. This is actually important if you want to compete on the online leaderboards. Dolphin Up also includes a Free Swim area so you can try tricks and learn the games physics.

There are three places to swim in Dolphin Up, and there are three sea creatures to swim with. There are also other animals to interact with in Dolphin Up. The more fish you get with you the more your score will be multiplied. So bring your finned friends with you into the sky.

Landing is very important in Dolphin Up. If you land wrong then you will lose your speed. More importantly you can lose all of your massively high combo score. With that two minute time limit, you will get very frustrated because you will not be able to compete with others on the leaderboards.

The majority of the sounds in Dolphin Up are good. There is one porpoise sound that annoyed everyone here at Family Friendly Gaming. The soft colors used in the graphics are nice. There is no violence or bad language in Dolphin Up. At least I did not find any.

At the time this review as written Dolphin Up is selling for $3.99. In my opinion that is a bit high for the amount of content. Also some people will not understand Dolphin Up, and not like it. My mom does not see the point of Dolphin Up on the Wii U. I found it fun for a time.
