Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria

Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria is a downloadable only video game that has ported over to the Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS. The same game is on both systems. I verified this. It takes fifteen to twenty hours to play through the four chapters in Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria. Plenty of nods are given in Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria to other franchises.

I saw references in Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria to Dr Who, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Minecraft, and more. The final chapter in Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria is one that any Minecraft fan needs to check out. Families can play any of the four chapters whenever they want. You do not need to beat chapter one to play chapter two, three or four. In fact you can start with the last one if you so choose.

The storylines, and commentary in Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria show some creativity. Especially the different names for the color swapped monsters. Players can capture monsters and have them fight for you. Please note monsters do not level up like characters. They eventually become too weak to be worth anything in the turn based battles.

Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria contains some bad language, violence, undead, dead people in Heaven, churches, and more. Players have to take on the role of a thief in one of the chapters in Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria. The priest at the church references: "The Master," as the religious belief and entity they worship. I am not sure if they are referencing God or something else.

Family Friendly Gaming has written about throw back games like Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria for years now. It is great to see new video games being done in the retro styles. It would be even better if games like Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria were released in physical copy format and if they were playable on older video game systems.

If you are a fan of the older turn based role playing games then you should take a look at Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria. I enjoyed my time with Dragon Fantasy The Volumes of Westeria. I blew through the game, hoping for a sequel, and for this downloadable only video game to enter the physical copy realm.
