Evel Knievel
SCORE: 79
I asked my dad who Evel Knievel was since I had never heard of him
before. His daredevil jumps made him famous. He also hurt himself in
accidents over the years. I like motorcycles, but when I grow up I am
not going to jump cars, trucks, planes, and more. Evel Knievel is also
now an app. He is the perfect person to base one of these motorcycle
physics game on too.
Evel Knievel takes players four years and older through the various
jumps the man did in real life. There is a tiny little twist to it
though. Since this is a video game, there is a small obstacle course to
go through before taking the jump. You can crash before you even make it
to the jump. There are missions and coins in Evel Knievel. The missions
will help you level up and make your racer stronger. Coins can purchase
better motorcycles(outfits and more) which is needed in certain jumps.
The production value in Evel Knievel is intense. There are so many apps
that look half done. It is cool to see one where a company actually
spent some time on making it look good. Evel Knievel also sounds really
good. The engine sounds are wonderful in Evel Knievel. I also liked
hearing the voice of the man at certain points in the jumps. It made me
feel like I was playing with history.
I am so thankful that Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download
code for Evel Knievel on the iPhone and iPad. I would have never found
it on the over-populated app store by myself. And now thanks to my
review millions in Family Friendly Gaming Universe can look for Evel
Knievel. Evel Knievel costs $1.99, and families get twenty-seven jumps
for that price. I did not find any in-app purchase in this game
thankfully.
If you like motorcycle physics video games like Trials Fusion, you will
enjoy Evel Knievel on the iPad, and iPhone. The controls can be a bit
touchy at times. Be careful with your speed, and rotations at the end.
It is really easy to crash and hurt your rider in Evel Knievel. I felt
bad when I sent him flying. Even when it was the mission to send the
rider flying so many feet.
Evel Knievel is a strong performance for Barnstorm Games. I hope to see
more games like this from them in the future. I think Evel Knievel would
work really well on the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita. Evel Knievel
is also one of those games that deserves a physical copy. It would need
some additional content added to it, but that would be neat to see in
the future.
