Evoland 2
SCORE: 59
Shiro Games is creating a unique franchise with the Evoland video
games. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code to Evoland 2
on Steam (Personal Computer). Evoland 2 starts in the older style of
video games and upgrades over the areas to the more current style of
video games. That means things can start looking extremely retro and
then upgrade to much better looking graphics.
Evoland 2 has decent sounds, and music that enhances the game play
experience. On the downside there is bad language in Evoland 2. As far
as I can tell there is no official organization that provides a rating
of Evoland 2. I believe Evoland 2 would be in the thirteen and older
rating section. Especially with shooter style, and fighting style
accompanying the action adventure role playing style violence.
The uniqueness and innovation in Evoland 2 is fantastic. I love how
Evoland 2 does so many different things. With that said Evoland 2 is not
perfect. There are not enough areas to grind, especially before really
difficult bosses. There are glitches in Evoland 2, and lag that did not
go away even when the graphical intensity was dropped. Players are also
expected to help a demonic character.
Some of the content in Evoland 2 that families will want to be aware of
is demons, bad language, violence, alcohol reference, helping demons,
sexual innuendo, easy to get stuck, and it teaches the belief in global
warming. Evoland 2 also promotes the controversial and highly divisive
religious belief of evolution. Evoland 2 could have easily been made
more family friendly. The lowest difficulty setting can still be
difficult for casual gamers.
Expect plenty of cliches and nods to other franchises in Evoland 2.
There are even nods given to Evoland. The more geek knowledge you
contain, the more of Evoland 2 you will understand. If you are not a fan
of a certain style, just wait because Evoland 2 changes things up quite
frequently. Evoland 2 is almost like walking through the highlights of
history of the video game industry. It does this inside a video game.
