Excave
SCORE: 70
Excave is an overhead view hack and slash role playing video game
where players enter large dungeons. Along the way gamers will find
monsters to dispose of. This is done with your weapons. Carry more than
one weapon on your character since they have a habit of breaking.
There are fifty dungeons and five tough bosses in Excave. The dungeons
can be tough to navigate through. Thankfully you will not have to do it
in one sitting. Excave lets gamers teleport back to town. Then you can
go back through the dungeon - knowing which direction to take.
The overhead view works for Excave. Even though this is a new Nintendo
3DS downloadable only video game it has a retro feel to it. Plenty of
item and gold drops from the monsters in Excave. The money helps pay for
repairs of the weapons at the Blacksmith back in town.
Excave can be deceptively easy in parts. It can be downright difficult
in other areas. Keep all of this in mind as you play through. Battling
enemies can get repetitive. The weapons breaking is more of a freak out
moment for me than it is breaking the monotony of game play.
Players can use a variety of weapons in Excave. There is also magical
elements in this hand held video game. There are strange symbols on the
ground in Excave. I am not sure if they are meant to be occultic,
Satanic, or something else.
