Family Fishing
SCORE: 82
I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for
Family Fishing on the Nintendo 3DS. This arcade style fishing game takes
the favorite family members from the other family games like Family
Tennis, and has them compete in fishing tournaments. There are a couple
of family members compete in fishing tournaments in Family Fishing.
Capture the boss fish, or let time expire to end the fishing
tournaments.
The way to win in Family Fishing is to score the most points. The
different sizes of the fish will determine their value. Bigger fish are
harder to catch, but they are worth more points. Bigger fish also take
longer to catch, compared to the smaller fish. There is always a
possibility that your rod will break. Certain fish will ignore certain
lures as well. So there is some strategy to victory in Family Fishing.
The music in Family Fishing is nice. We have Japanese voices shouting
something at certain points while we play Family Fishing on the Nintendo
3DS. Players can purchase better gear while they are playing Family
Fishing. This is very handy when a rod breaks. The modes in Family
Fishing are Campaign, Free Battle, and Survival. The price of Family
Fishing is very fair at the $5.99 price point.
It would be awesome if Family Fishing was released in the physical
format. I can see how a compilation of multiple "family" games would
work well on a cartridge and/or disc in the near future. Maybe a
"families greatest hits" or something like that. I say this because more
families look at physical copies than they do digital downloads. Family
Fishing is missing out on a lot of potential sales.
Family Fishing is a solid arcade fishing title that is fun, fresh, and
entertaining. I did notice some attire issues with a few of the
characters here and there. Like on a loading screen there was cleavage
being shown. Family Friendly Gaming prefers to provide that information,
as opposed to ignore and/or gloss over it. If it does not bother you,
then move on. If it does, we have done our due diligence in providing it
to the millions of our readers.
