Hyrule Warriors

The WMG rented Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U for this review. The most money this game is worth in this reviewer's opinion is twenty dollars. Anything else is an overpayment. To make matters worse Nintendo is trying to sell additional content to this game in the form of DLC. Nothing like adding to the billions they already have in the bank. Makes intelligent gamers realize the prices of video games are over inflated. When will that bubble burst?

Hyrule Warriors is in the style of Dynasty Warriors. In fact Dynasty Warrior fanboys will be right at home playing Hyrule Warriors. Zelda fanboys, or Link fanboys will recognize characters, locales, sounds, and weapons in Hyrule Warriors. The game play style is not like any other Zelda video game out there today. Players hack and slash through thousands of the same looking enemies.

The violence in Hyrule Warriors gets boring very quickly. How many monsters can we murder? When have you had enough of that kind of behavior? Enticement to lust issues on multiple female characters Hyrule Warriors drag this home console video game down even worse. It is like a millstone around the neck dropping the industry into the sea. Hyrule Warriors is not respectful towards women in one bit graphically.

There is a deep religious system in Hyrule Warriors. We are faced with a false goddess, and characters worshiping her. There is also worship of fairies, and the religious belief of reincarnation. Wow, they stuffed a lot of religious content into this violent video game that could also be accused of being a bit of a tree hugger. Magic is also present in Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U.

The music is nice, and we get the same Zelda sounds. A voice does recap at the start of each level. Even when you are playing through continuously. Player two also has to connect back in at the start of each level. Yes even when you are playing through continuously. Annoying does not even begin to describe that layout decision. The game play in Hyrule Warriors is stale, and so last century.

Hyrule Warriors is not worth the price of admission at current prices. Wait for it to come down, or miss this game entirely. You won't be missing much if you make the wise decision to pass on Hyrule Warriors. It is a real spiritual drain to play Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U. I am glad I will not have to see this game ever again. Hyrule Warriors hurts Nintendo's clean image, because this game is really dirty.
