Industry Giant II
SCORE: 70
I like simulation games. There is something so much fun (at least to
me) about building factories, farms, and more. I really get into
building towns, and improving cities in games like Industry Giant II.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Industry Giant
II on Steam. I did some research and found there are physical copies of
Industry Giant II on Amazon.
The graphics are a bit tiny on Industry Giant II, however we can zoom
in. The screen kept flashing every so often until it gave me a headache.
Nothing I tried got rid of that flashing. Maybe because Industry Giant
II is in essence an older game (initial hard copy release was in the
summer of 2002). The Steam release was in August 14, 2015. Industry
Giant II clocks in at 2.5 gigs. Which is why physical copy is always
preferable, and cheaper.
The music in Industry Giant II is pleasant. I enjoyed listening to it
while trying to figure out what to do. The text in Industry Giant II is
really tiny. I wish more game developers realized that a larger font is
more helpful. The tutorial system in Industry Giant II is a bit on the
light side. There are plenty of controls in Industry Giant II that are
not very intuitive.
The maps in Industry Giant II are nice. They are a bit on the small
side. I enjoyed the open sandbox mode in Industry Giant II. The missions
are interesting if you want a more limited scope. The flashing of the
graphics was the biggest problem with Industry Giant II. I wish we could
have figured out what the source of that problem was. I suspect the age
of the game, and playing it on a newer system.
I would love to see the Industry Giant franchise come back. An Industry
Giant III game would be awesome to see. My guess is this franchise did
not sell well enough to continue on. There are some rumors of an
Industry Giant III, but nothing solid. I personally would like to see it
created. Industry Giant II is a game that teaches basic concepts of
economics, as well as business. The time era in Industry Giant II is
interesting for history buffs.
