Loot Hound

Family Friendly Gaming was recently provided a download code for Loot Hound on Steam. This downloadable only Personal Computer (PC) video game is all about walking your dog, and letting it find things. The three different dogs in Loot Hound find areas to dig things up. There are one hundred and ten items in all in Loot Hound. You will find some of the same things twice. Then you can crush the duplicates.

Loot Hound has a direct overhead view. The line for the leash will turn red when the dog and this master are too far away. The dog can pull the leash out of the owner's hand. Dogs in Loot Hound will do real world things in Loot Hound. Like bark at, and chase joggers, urinate on trees, and more. Players can upgrade the dogs in Loot Hound. In fact you absolutely have to in certain areas to progress.

On more than one occasion in Loot Hound did I find the dog to be nearly worthless. He or she would bark at me, and I would move. Only to find out I was not standing on the dig spot. You can stand on the dig spot, and get in the way of the dog. Loot Hound also has the dogs lose their concentration thanks to things happening nearby like a bee hive buzzing.

After a level is played, then you go back to your house. From there you can look at your collection. Loot Hound will tell you things about the items you found. Like a beer bottle. Yes Loot Hound has alcohol references in it. I am glad my dad was never out in the backyard drinking. Reading about it in Loot Hound was not something I could relate to in any way, shape, or form.

Loot Hound is currently in the Steam Greenlight. It is not that large of a download so it should not kill off your Internet usage for the month. I can see the charm and appeal to Loot Hound. At other times Loot Hound bored me to tears. Waiting on the dog to dig felt like forever. Other times the dog was not skilled enough and would stop. This was actually annoying - having to go back to the house to purchase upgrades.
