Minions
SCORE: 79
We were very excited to have a Minions movie afternoon recently. We
found this DVD on sale locally for thirteen dollars. I normally like to
wait for movies to come down to ten dollars or less. There was such
excitement for Minions that we decided to make this purchase. Prequels
can be fun, since we see where characters come from. Minions is no
exception. There are some things about Minions I was not expecting.
What are some of the things I was not expecting from Minions? First off
this movie has mild religious teachings in the radical belief of
evolution. Could have done without that. This movie also shows that
Minions are immortal. Most of Minions is about Kevin, Stuart, and Bob.
They go on a quest to find the biggest bad guy they can find. Why? They
want to serve that person.
The biggest problem the Minions have in this movie is they keep messing
things up for whomever their boss is. How they mess things up is almost
always hilarious. Even when you knew it was coming, it was funny. They
get into the Villain Con where they meet Scarlet Overkill. She is all
about how women are better than men and all of that war on men garbage.
Wonder why the Minions need a master? Because they become lethargic and
worthless without serving someone. The front of the Minions case has
Kevin holding up a sign that says: "Serving Evil since the Dawn of
Time." They did not show or reference Satan in the Garden of Eden
though. Which is a real shame because Minions had such an opportunity
there.
Minions seems to have this obsession with characters wearing a thong,
and showing off their behinds as they walk away from the camera. There
is also violence and peril in Minions. Spoiler Alert! In the end Kevin,
Stuart, and Bob save England, and the crown. Then they meet Gru in the
end of the movie. Be sure to stay through the beginning of the credits
for numerous cool short scenes.
The bonus features on the DVD of Minions is Delete Scene - Me, Myself
and Stuart, and Jingle Bells Minions style. We enjoyed watching Minions.
This is a movie with plenty of funny moments. The French, Spanish,
English, and gibberish the Minions speak is different. We could usually
figure out what they were referencing. It is amazing how many situations
they survive through in this movie.
