Nova-111
SCORE: 71
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Nova-111 on
the Playstation 4 (cross buy is enabled so it also works on PS3 and PS
Vita). This downloadable only video game clocks in under four hundred
megs. Physical copy gamers are excluded from purchasing Nova-111. Which
is a real shame in this day and age. I wish more companies were
sensitive to physical copy gamers. I talk to members of the physical
copy movement that feel discriminated against.
Nova-111 is a Mystery Dungeon kind of a game. Players move around, and
so do the enemy characters. Spikes will fall from the top of the screen
and kill creatures as it moves toward the bottom of the screen. There
are multiple areas in each of the levels of Nova-111. One of my biggest
complaints about Nova-111 is it is too short. Once I was really getting
into Nova-111 it was all done with. There is a plus version of the game,
but I am not into that.
Nova-111 contains violence as we headbutt, and shoot enemies with
weapons. Players can also be attacked in the same fashion by enemies. My
advice is to move when an enemy glows red. It is also very helpful to
use those falling spikes in your favor. The enemies in Nova-111 will
lose their lives thanks to those falling rocks. Please note it can take
multiple hits to do away with many of the creatures in Nova-111.
There is also some bad language in Nova-111. I loved saving the
scientists in Nova-111. I am not sure why they are hanging out in such
hard to find places. Nova-111 contains secret areas that will help you
upgrade your character. Which can be the difference between life and
death of your character in Nova-111. Plus it is always fun to find
secret and hidden areas in any video game. Easter Eggs for the win.
I like Nova-111. It is quirky, strange, and a new take on the Mystery
Dungeon concept. The whole gravity concept is cool. Especially since it
does not apply to the characters in this downloadable only video game. I
hope to see more games like Nova-111 in the near future. Maybe a
Nova-222 or something. Although the company may want to be careful
getting anywhere near three sixes since America is still predominately a
Christian nation (if sequels make it that far).
