Parcel

Parcel is a block moving puzzle video game on the Personal Computer. Steam is the portal Parcel can be downloaded on. Players have to move the box from the start of the level to the end. There are lasers, and robots on the lasers that will get in the players way. The deeper a family member gets into Parcel the harder it becomes. Players can pick up the box and walk with it in their pocket.

The growing and shrinking of the box in Parcel is of particular interest to me. I keep wondering how that works.I wish I could transform large boxes into small ones that fit into my pocket in the real world. That would be handy. At least I would find that kind of technology handy. I suppose someone would abuse it, and shrink other people if it were available in our world.

The music in Parcel is fabulous. I could listen to those tracks over and over again. I hope someone releases a soundtrack in the near future. The music in Parcel also soothed the savage beast as I had to deal with frustration. There is no hints, and no help in Parcel. If you get stuck you are dead in the water. I found myself hopelessly stuck a couple of times in Parcel. The last time I gave up.

My biggest concern with Parcel is casual gamers were not considered. A casual gamer will give up, and never play Parcel again. They will also avoid future games from a company that makes games they can not figure out. Having to beat a level to get to the next one is frustrating. There needs to be some way to skip levels that we are stuck on. I hope that is considered in any sequels.

Visually Parcel is top down at a bit of an angle. Parcel reminds me of Tron in some ways early on. The FFG computer controller worked great on Parcel. The keyboard is another way this game can be played. Old school PC gamers will find the WASD control scheme they are used to. Parcel will tax your brain to the max. Figuring out how to get through certain areas can be complex.
