Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001

I ran across Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 recently, and knew Family Friendly Gaming has been exploring this baseball franchise. I find it intriguing that Sammy Sosa put his name on the line for this baseball franchise. This game is on the Personal Computer, and original Playstation. Which means I had to check out plenty of ugly looking games to see where Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 fit in.

The intro video in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 is fantastic. The graphics of the players, stands, fields, stadiums, and everything else are really lacking. I do like how Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 has some neat stats that come up about the players when they come up to bat. Batting and pitching are pretty simple and easy to pick up in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001.

I checked out the manual to figure out how to throw different pitches in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001. Players need to press R2 or L2 to bring up the view of what the pitches are. This is also where you can see how fatigued your current pitcher is. This is not very intuitive in my opinion. I wish it was easier to figure out how to pitch. Fielders can feel a bit clunky with the D-pad too.

The modes in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 are Exhibition, Family, Quick Start, Season, Playoffs, Player Edit, Home Run Derby, and Options. The Home Run Derby is very limited. I wish Mark McGwire was one of the selectable batters in the Home Run Derby of Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001. After all he beat Sammy Sosa, and held the MLB single season home run record for some years.

The music in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 is energetic. The announcers have decent sound bytes. The difficulty settings in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 range for all ages and skill sets. I appreciate the various options in Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001. It helps this sports game feel very close to baseball. Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 is a solid baseball game for families on the Playstation.
