Family Friendly Gaming was provided a DVD of Sesame Street Count on
Elmo for this review. The core main theme and lesson on Sesame Street
Count on Elmo is counting. Well at least the main episode is all about
counting, and numbers. The total play time of Sesame Street Count on
Elmo is 122 minutes. That can be a bit confusing at first since around
half of that is in the bonus section.
I was extremely perplexed when I had finished watching the main episode
on Sesame Street Count on Elmo within an hour. I selected Play All. I
went to the Bonus section to find Preschool is Cool ABCs with Elmo, and
Elmo's World Friends. I will admit I am not a supporter of pre-school.
In fact I am not big on the educational system in America. Given the
choice I choose families raising their own kids over the government.
Sesame Street Count on Elmo includes a variety of different art styles,
animations, puppets, and humans teaching the lessons they want kids to
learn. Counting, numbers, letters, the alphabet, having friends, and
more are great lessons. Pre-school and ignoring the rules for certain
people are lessons that families may not appreciate. There were also
characters impersonating the count so he could win the prize.
Sesame Street Count on Elmo could have been a lot shorter if Elmo,
Grover, Cookie Monsters, and Abby had immediately told the Count what
they wanted. Some of the humor in Sesame Street Count on Elmo would have
been lost. However it is a great lesson to teach our children that open,
transparent, and honest communications is the better path to choose.
As I write this review for Sesame Street Count on Elmo, I see it is
selling for a penny below ten dollars. A fair price for the amount of
content in my opinion. Plus there is an advertisement in Sesame Street
Count on Elmo to go to their website. Families that want to celebrate
the Count and all of his counting should enjoy Sesame Street Count on
Elmo on DVD.
