Steamworld Heist
SCORE: 75
Image & Form has been making waves in recent years. Their most recent
video game is Steamworld Heist. It has come out on the Nintendo 3DS
first. Other systems will follow. I am very thankful Family Friendly
Gaming was provided a download code for Steamworld Heist on the Nintendo
3DS. We were actually blessed with a code a week before it came out on
the Nintendo eShop.
Steamworld Heist is a really interesting take on the turn based strategy
role playing video game. Why is that? Because Steamworld Heist is in the
2D side scrolling visual look. There are plenty of doors and ladders in
Steamworld Heist. Characters can hide behind barrels, barriers, and
other objects. Characters can bounce their shots off of walls to hit
enemies from behind.
There is violence in Steamworld Heist. The characters in Steamworld
Heist are robots. They will fall apart when their health points are
completely exhausted. Characters on your team will be fixed and return
when you get back to your main ship. Which is really neat, and helps
alleviate the violent factor in Steamworld Heist. This is one of the
reasons Steamworld Heist is an 'E10+' rated video game instead of a 'T'
rated video game.
The voice acting in Steamworld Heist is stellar. I love the intro
commentary. It feels like a television show from the 1950s, or 1960s.
That nostalgia factor is fantastic to see. I appreciate it. There are so
many little innovations in Steamworld Heist that make me appreciate it.
The unique game play in Steamworld Heist caught my attention and held
it. The story line revolving around water is interesting. In fact water
is the currency in this downloadable only video game.
Steamworld Heist is one of those video games that is so good that it
deserves a physical copy. I hope to see physical copies of Steamworld
Heist in the near future. The violence is the main factor in Steamworld
Heist that will concern families. I like to see interesting ideas like
Steamworld Heist. It works in so many ways. Note you will need to grind
some to make it through certain hard levels, and you may want to play on
Casual mode.
