Tenshu General
SCORE: 74
I appreciate the fact that Family Friendly Gaming was provided a
Steam download code for Tenshu General on the Personal Computer. This
downloadable only PC game is a mixture between Risk and real time
strategy (RTS) games. I like a lot of aspects of Tenshu General. I like
that Family Friendly Gaming was given a code a few weeks before the
official game launch. We were warned of a few bugs that were being
worked on.
Tenshu General has a neat tutorial that teaches the gamer how to play
Tenshu General. Build up resources, build up the armies, and go conquer.
The more farms you conquer the more rice you earn. The more rice you
earn the more troops you can buy. Defenses can be important in your
capital as well as advisers. Players have to use strategy as well as use
speed to achieve victory in Tenshu General.
Each Campaign in Tenshu General contains a set goal the player needs to
accomplish. Skirmish mode is also included in Tenshu General. I like
Skirmish mode since it is more Sandbox than the Campaign mode. I was
able to make Tenshu General easier to play in Skirmish mode. I wish that
option was available in the Campaigns. The custom maps will be a big hit
with gamers.
My one complaint about Tenshu General has two parts. Part one, the game
gets hard fast. Part two, armies pass right by one another. Certain maps
in Tenshu General are a real pain as an enemy army passes right by my
army. I conquer where they came from, and they conquer where I came
from. It would also be nice to have multiple different armies in the
same territory. My guess is that would take a lot more work on the part
of SmartArt Gamestudio.
The art work in Tenshu General is okay. It uses some toned down colors.
The music is nice, it has an Eastern flair to it. The battle sounds can
get aggravating after a few maps. The cow sounds in Tenshu General
turned quite a few heads here at Family Friendly Gaming. Rebel armies
can slow players down, unless they let their opponent wear them down
first.
I like Tenshu General. I really got into it. I wish there were more
games like Tenshu General on the marketplace. I wish there were physical
copies of Tenshu General. I would also love to see the Conquer Club maps
released in an offline mode physical copy version in the future. I know,
I know, I am an endless well of wanting things. I will work on being
more content with what I have.
