The Remaining
SCORE: 58
The Remaining is the first time I have seen a movie where I am
perplexed. The Remaining is a Christian horror movie. Let that sink in
for a few cycles. It takes place at the Rapture, and takes us through
the experiences of some young adults who are trying to survive.
Along the way we lose cast members in The Remaining. As soon as someone
decides to accept God, the demons swoop in and put an end to their
mortal coils. I mean swoop in literally too. These flying demons can
sting you and you will die a painful horrible death.
The lighting is freaky and creepy in The Remaining. We deal with blood,
death, gore, a little enticement to lust, and plenty of give you a heart
attack moments. The Remaining is not for children. The Remaining can
give anyone nightmares.
The redeeming grace in The Remaining is how the young adults decide to
live for God, or not. They each make a choice. They realize what will
happen when that choice is made. The Remaining is interesting in terms
of happy endings. At least on the surface. When you know what happens in
the spiritual realm then it is much happier.
The Remaining is eighty-eight minutes long with a couple of bonus
features. A deleted scene, and the making of the movie. There are some
fun facts found in the making of The Remaining. It can give viewers a
reason to re-watch this Christian horror film.
