The Seventh Dwarf
SCORE: 78
Family Friendly Gaming was recently provided a reviewable copy of The
Seventh Dwarf on DVD. This family movie merges together a variety of
different fairy tales. The main theme in The Seventh Dwarf is Sleeping
Beauty. The princess Rose has been cursed by a witch. She will fall into
a deep sleep, and so will everyone in the castle if she pricks her
finger before she turns eighteen.
Peyton List, and Norm Macdonald headline The Seventh Dwarf with their
voices. They are even featured in the bonus section talking about The
Seventh Dwarf. There is also character profiles, and sing-alongs, as
well as a downloadable Birthday Invitation PDF. The Seventh Dwarf lasts
for eighty-eight minutes. True love eventually wins out over the tricks
of the witch.
The motivation of the witch was something I found very interesting in
The Seventh Dwarf. Certain promises had been made, and then broken. Many
of us can relate to others not keeping their word. Which is why I work
diligently to keep my word all of the time. Even when it is difficult.
There are times I wish more people would learn from that example.
Because those that break their word are making the world a worse place
to live in.
The Seventh Dwarf takes us on the path of Bobo who is a rather clumsy
dwarf who can not properly tie his shoe. When his shoe is untied all
kinds of accidents happen. Bobo is also not the most intelligent dwarf
on the fantasy world. He accidentally sets off the device that pricks
the princesses finger. He does eventually make things right in the end
though.
Jack is the kitchen boy who loves Rose. He is sent out early in the
movie in case the witch succeeds. Unfortunately for Jack and Rose the
witch intercepts him thanks to her dragon. The dragon becomes a very
interesting characters in The Seventh Dwarf. As do the songs in this
movie. None of them spoke to me personally but I think there are some
out there that would really appreciate the lessons in The Seventh Dwarf.
The Seventh Dwarf starts early with tarot cards being used. The
animations are nice. There are multiple songs in this movie. There is
some magic in The Seventh Dwarf. Mainly ice magic. I did like the two
potions, especially the invisibility one. There is some humor in The
Seventh Dwarf. Kids will either really like The Seventh Dwarf or not at
all. I like the lesson of friendship in The Seventh Dwarf.
