The Song

Family Friendly Gaming was provided a DVD, music CD, and book for The Song. This Christian movie is based on the Song of Solomon. Which means it deals with marriage, relationships, and sex. All from an adult perspective. So The Song is not for the younger members of the family.

Adultery, alcohol and drugs are all shown in The Song. So many movies in Hollywood make those three things look cool. The Song shows the damages they cause. Another way of putting it is The Song is responsible and accurate with these issues.

We start with the father in The Song who is a big country star. He makes mistakes and it costs people their lives. He ruins the lives of others in a very selfish fashion. His son(Jed King) winds up following in the family business of singing. He meets Rose and falls in love. He finally gets some passion in his songs, and writing of songs after marrying her.

Jed King's star rises. His wife comes along until they have their first child. Then it is no longer feasible to have the family together on the road. This is where strife enters the relationship. Jed is gone all the time, and he wants to come get some every time he comes home. His wife is not in the mood, or tired, their child is awake, or some other excuse. This drives Jed into the bed of one of his band mates. Who has been after him for a long time.

The Song shows the inevitable crash. Jed eventually hits rock bottom from his partying sleeping with another woman, neglecting his wife and family. He winds up in rehab. He is given a second chance to get back on stage and become a performer again.

I won't tell you what he does in The Song. I will tell you that The Song is a tear inducer. Themes of what is important, and forgiveness can also be found in The Song. Scriptures are quoted throughout this movie that has multiple memorable songs.
