Word Search by POWGI
SCORE: 84
There are differences between the Nintendo 3DS version of Word Search
by POWGI, and the Wii U version of Word Search by POWGI. The most
important difference is five players can play Word Search by POWGI at
the same time. Everyone looking for words on the same screen can get
hectic. Especially with all of those different colored hands on the
screen. Well four players look at the TV screen while the fifth looks at
the Wii U Gamepad.
The player using the Wii U Gamepad has a distinct advantage. It is
easier to use the stylus than it is the Wii Remote. Speed is very
important in Word Search by POWGI. Why? Because uncivilized heathens
will steal words from you. They see you trying to select a word and grab
it before you can complete the spelling. That kind of behavior leads to
real world anger, and real world arguments.
Word Search by POWGI does not push the Wii U to its limits graphically.
That is okay, because the music is pleasant to listen to. The screen can
get all crazy with all those different colors spelling out words. Each
player has their own specific color, and words they spell stay that
color on the screen. Letters highlight as the word is spelled out, and
the player is given credit for that word.
A long word has the same point value as a short word. Even though short
words are generally harder to find. Longer words usually stick out
better. The same thing goes for words spelled left to right, or right to
left. Either way the words are the same point value. Even though it is
harder to find a backwards spelled word. Or backwards spelled
diagonally.
Word Search by POWGI tries to trick families up by partially spelling
words and then ending them. If you find that, the right spelling is
usually close by. Other words not on the list can also be found in Word
Search by POWGI. There are numerous words to find in the 324 puzzles on
the Wii U. Families will find a lot of time drain away while they search
for the words in Word Search by POWGI.
I wish Word Search by POWGI had some form of a hint system. If you are
stuck then you sit there and stare at the screen until you find it or
give up. I used a grid search to find words that were tough to find.
That almost always worked for me. Other family members beating me to
that word was also something that happened, and it never made me very
happy.
