Adventure Party Cats and Caverns
SCORE: 50
Family Friendly Gaming was recently provided a digital download code
for Adventure Party Cats and Caverns on the Wii U. This role playing
video game goes back to the days of having a dungeon master. The person
who read the description and commands to the other players. One player
uses the Wii U Gamepad, and the others use Wii remotes to move around
the screen and interact with objects.
The speed of the dungeon master (DM) determines how well your game is
going to go. Players will sit there and wait while the DM is reading
what all is going on. The DM can also control the environment and
computer characters. The DM can move someone out of your way, or right
into it. The DM can flood an area of dry it up. The DM can be nice, or
mean.
Adventure Party Cats and Caverns is designed for multiple people to play
at the same time. I found it nearly impossible to play as a single
player in Adventure Party Cats and Caverns. I could have both
controllers in my hands and swap back and forth. It is extremely
annoying to do that though. Players must constantly communicate for some
idea of what is going on.
The issues families will have with Adventure Party Cats and Caverns is
magic, violence, long loading screens, glitches, indie graphics,
confusion on what to do, and more. The indie graphics are showcased when
we see that message: "Waiting on Storyteller." Expect to see that
message a lot in Adventure Party Cats and Caverns. The DM can also
increase or decrease the rate you will encounter battles.
The music in Adventure Party Cats and Caverns is pleasant. There are
multiple missions for this Wii U game selling for $12.99 at launch. I
love how the DM can kill off the enemies and give the group all of the
loot and experience. Having the DM work with the group is the best way
we found to play Adventure Party Cats and Caverns. If the DM gets in the
way there can be no way to progress.
The loading times in Adventure Party Cats and Caverns are insanely long.
I am not sure why it takes so long for this indie game to load. I wish
there was a single player mode available in Adventure Party Cats and
Caverns. I ran into graphical glitches while playing Adventure Party
Cats and Caverns. Like it was lagging and then caught up all of a
sudden. Old school role playing gamers, and indie gamers will be
interested in Adventure Party Cats and Caverns.
