Alchemic Jousts

Alchemic Jousts is a 2D action strategy game with cute looking characters. I am pleased that Family Friendly Gaming was emailed a digital downloadable code for Alchemic Jousts on the Playstation 4 (PS4). I do not think there is a physical copy version of Alchemic Jousts. Graphically Alchemic Jousts looks like a free app to me. Alchemic Jousts is definitely an indie game.

I love the music and special effect sounds in Alchemic Jousts. These little critters have funny and cute sounds in Alchemic Jousts. Which at times seemed strange since they are fighting it out. The goal in Alchemic Jousts is to destroy the base of the other side. Alchemic Jousts is sort of like Castlestorm that way.

The controls in Alchemic Jousts are hard to see, and the controls can be a bit confusing. There is a rock, paper, scissors concept in Alchemic Jousts. Earth beats water, fire beats earth, and water beats fire. The creatures in Alchemic Jousts walk into one another. Once the losing side touches the winning side it just vanishes. The same happens when they are both the same kind. So two waters evaporate one another.

The levels in Alchemic Jousts are long. There are different kinds of levels in Alchemic Jousts. Some examples are capture, king of the hill, and attack. There are one hundred and eighty skills and upgrades in Alchemic Jousts. I enjoyed combining elements in Alchemic Jousts to earn new troops. The more I played Alchemic Jousts the more depth I found in this home console game.

Alchemic Jousts is an acquired taste. If you are into Castlestorm and do not mind the graphics then Alchemic Jousts may interest you. There is less bad content in Alchemic Jousts than in Castlestorm. I wish the controls were easier to see and made more sense. Many of the directional commands feel inverted in Alchemic Jousts. Why was that done?
