Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space
SCORE: 70
I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a reviewable copy
of Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space on the Playstation 4. This game
clocks in a little under half a gig. It did not kill us here at Family
Friendly Gaming, but all the digital downloads add up. Amazing
Discoveries In Outer Space is the kind of a game that would fit
perfectly in the indie physical copy movement we have talked about.
Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space can teach families about fuel
consumption, gravity, temperature, and trajectory. Players start on a
small planet and explore. Then we can launch out into space and use a
Z-Drive to transport to another solar system. There are planets and a
sun. Note do not fly directly into the sun. It is also important to slow
your descent before landing.
Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space reminds me of Star Control in some
aspects. We have to collect resources like fuel while we are on planets.
Use too much fuel and it is game over. Which can be lame since we have
no way knowing if a planet will have anything or not. The same thing
goes for temperature. We can easily over heat and destroy our ship if we
are not careful.
The music in Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space is pleasing to the ear
drums. The graphics are indie. They are not terrible, nor do they max
out the graphical card of the Playstation 4. The controls are the
biggest problem in Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space. I struggled with
them, and the swap over from space to landing on the planet is way too
quick. I crashed too many times because I could not react fast enough.
Then I would get a fuel leak and it was pretty much game over after
that.
I like collecting information on things, towing, and having the
astronaut go out around these small little planets. Amazing Discoveries
In Outer Space is a fun little game with a few issues that make it too
hard. So if you are looking for a tough video game that lets you explore
solar systems then checking out Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space on
the Playstation 4. I am not talented enough to be good at this game.
