Captain America Civil War
SCORE: 62
We were very interested in watching and reviewing Captain America
Civil War. So we splurged for once and purchased it pretty new. Spent
just under twenty-two dollars before taxes to get this movie at a local
retailer. I read the Civil War comic book series and was curious to see
if Holly Weird would keep the fantastic and thought provoking story
line. They did not.
The Civil War comic book series is about super heroes and super villains
fighting it out and hundreds of people get killed in a small town. This
causes the government to enact a Superhuman Registration Act. In essence
the heroes and villains are dangerous weapons and need to register with
the government. In other words give the government their secret
identities. Which could easily lead to the death of their loved ones.
Especially since we know the government is so good at stopping illegal
hacks. Oh wait with some special class citizens being allowed to have
their own private email servers we know their security is pathetic. We
also know the government will not punish their special class citizens
for breaking the law. The rest of us get punished harshly for the same
things.
Captain America Civil War takes a completely different approach. It is
overseas, and the UN is the big, bad, evil, vile, and wicked government
agency trying to control super heroes because they fear them. An
accident happens thanks to a villain blowing themselves up. The corrupt
politicians use it as an opportunity to take more control. Some of them
like Iron Man thinks it is a good thing. Captain America knows tyranny
comes from the loss of freedoms and fights it.
A super villains is in the background of Captain America Civil War
splitting the Avengers apart. To me Captain America Civil War should be
called Avengers Splintered or Avengers Fractured. It is not much of a
Civil War, especially with so few heroes. The villains are not even
recruited to hunt down super heroes standing for freedom. Sorry I am
still obsessing of other areas Holly Weird got it wrong.
As a movie in itself there are plenty of cool action scenes. There are
great moments of different heroes fighting it out. Spiderman versus
Captain America is my personal favorite. Spiderman and Black Panther
make great additions to this franchise in my personal opinion. Ant Man
also has his moments in Captain America Civil War. Winter Soldier (aka
Bucky) is central to the storyline in Captain America Civil War. Hydra
brain washed him and made him kill. Which is why some of the heroes want
to bring him in. Dead or alive, and they would prefer the first one.
There is plenty of blood, explosions, and violence in Captain America
Civil War. These heroes do what they believe in. If that means going
through other heroes then so be it. There is a lesson there about not
being open to compromise. There is also a lesson about the dangers of
government control. There are plenty of rah rah bonus features on the
Captain America Civil War Blu-ray disc.
