Coffin Dodgers
SCORE: 57
I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for
Coffin Dodgers on the Playstation 4. The PSN store said Coffin Dodgers
was a little over seven hundred megs. When I went into the download
menu, it said Coffin Dodgers is a 1.22 gig download. Which is strange
since there are only thirteen races in the story mode of this digital
download.
Players can go into an open world of the areas and complete little
missions. There are seven elderly citizens in Coffin Dodgers that race
on scooters. The Grim Reaper also known as death is an unlockable
character in Coffin Dodgers. Families can compete with the split screen
mode in Coffin Dodgers. It took me under two hours to completely beat
Coffin Dodgers.
As we race in Coffin Dodgers, the characters doing the worst are killed
off. They only look dead in the final race (where we have to beat
death). Zombies are all over the race tracks. Hitting one splatters
blood on our screens. The main goal of Coffin Dodgers is to be only
character left alive. Death has to turn in his scythe since he could not
ultimately retire you.
The crude humor and morbid theme is what sets Coffin Dodgers apart from
other Mario Kart clones. Also being able to use the 'O' button to attack
nearby characters, as well as pick up and use weapons. I ran into two
kinds of races in Coffin Dodgers. If I got into first place in the first
lap, no one touched me. No one got near me, and I coasted to an easy
first place victory.
The other kind of race I got into is where things went wrong early, and
I never recovered. I might have gotten a place or two back, but I had to
redo the race to avoid death from taking the soul of my character. There
is crude humor, language, blood, gross characters, glitches, name
calling, Playboy promotion, crashes and more in Coffin Dodgers. The
controls in Coffin Dodgers take some time to learn.
I wish Coffin Dodgers let me shoot behind me. I would be in first place,
and would get a weapon that fired forward only. It was a waste in my
opinion. I either held it or got rid of it, and hoped the next item
would be better. I liked being able to upgrade the scooter in Coffin
Dodgers. Ultimately I am not sure it was needed to breeze through this
non-physical copy video game.
