Eagle Flight
SCORE: 65
There was all this excitement over the Playstation 4 VR launch, and
then it kind of slid down a hill. So I was very excited to hear Family
Friendly Gaming was emailed a digital download code for this flying VR
video game. I don't want the millions upon millions of physical copy
gamers to freak out. Eagle Flight does have a physical copy at
retailers. Ubisoft provided for the physical copy movement.
My initial reactions to Eagle Flight were extremely positive. It looks
wonderous in VR. I loved looking around this city from the eagle eye
position. Did not let me visually zoom in, so not very eagle eye
realistic there. That was after sitting through some long loading
screens. Paris looks weird in Eagle Flight. Humans left for some reason.
I guess the extreme radicals on the far left are excited about that
aspect of Eagle Flight. The animals have taken over, and so have trees.
I need to warn the millions of readers of Family Friendly Gaming about
something concerning Eagle Flight. This game can give you motion
sickness. I had a couple of bouts where I had to take the helmet off and
lay down because I was about ready to lose my lunch. Part of that came
from having to move so fast to get through all those rings. Then I could
no longer listen to the interesting music.
Eagle Flight is sadly very short with only five chapters. What is
strange is many of the flying levels felt way too long. Why can't I walk
around the ground as an eagle? I wanted to. Eagles can walk and/or hop
on the ground. If you want to play multiplayer then you must pay for
Playstation Plus. The sensitivity of the head turning controls can be
adjusted in Eagle Flight.
The more I played Eagle Flight, the more I felt it was lacking. It is
lacking in diversity of what we do in the levels. The controls can not
be adjusted to use the controller. There is no local multiplayer. The
free roam around the city is one of the best parts of Eagle Flight in my
opinion. I learned that my eagle would lose if I ran into anything. Like
what? An elephant, tree, wall, ceiling, and more. Eagle Flight has
violent content in certain parts.
