G Prime

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for G Prime on the Xbox One. This downloadable only home console game clocks in at 1.2 gigs in memory and download usage. To make matters even worse for families on an Internet budget is you can only play G Prime online. I am not clear why we have to always connect online to play G Prime. This game should offer an offline only mode.

G Prime may sound familiar to some of our long time readers. Why is that? Because of the video game called G that was released on the iPhone, and Personal Computer (PC). G Prime is not just a port though. Soma Games fleshed it out and made it the complete game they wanted G to be. So you could say G Prime is the editor's cut version of the G game.

The gravity game play mechanics are pretty good in G Prime. I enjoy the limited rocket thruster availability in G Prime. It can help families reach that final beacon. Make sure you trigger the ping when you are close enough to each of the beacons. The fewer rockets used in a level, the higher your score and in game currency reward. Scores can also be compared to other players if you are into that.

I did not remember how hard this game can be. G Prime makes players think about their actions. Finding the best course of action is always wise. Taking time to plot out the proper course is even wiser. Do not expect you will blitz through G Prime on the Xbox One. You might even need to seek out some assistance in some of the levels in G Prime. Or frustration will ensue.

G Prime is not for everyone. If you are interested in a challenging physics puzzler, and you can download video games then take a look at G Prime. There is decent graphics, decent voice acting, and moody music. Rockets that are sent out to ping locations will explode when they hit objects, when they finish a level, and when they go too far out into space. Yellow sparks will go out at the start of a level to show players where the launched rocket will go based on the gravity in that area.
