Galaxy of Trian
SCORE: 70
Family Friendly Gaming was offered a digital downloadable code for
Galaxy of Trian on Steam. You can probably guess that the offer was
accepted. Hence I am writing this review, so hopefully you were able to
come to that conclusion. Galaxy of Trian is a board game that has been
converted into the digital format. Technically there is a physical copy
of Galaxy of Trian if you have the board game. There is not a physical
copy of the digital version of this game. Are you entirely confused yet?
The concept of Galaxy of Trian is very interesting. We have triangle
shaped tiles. These tiles match up with other tiles. Planets to planets,
green lines to green lines, space clouds to space clouds and more. In
fact Galaxy of Trian is very deep in terms of strategy. I beat all ten
of the campaign levels and played some of the normal local mode of
Galaxy of Trian and I still feel like I have only scratched the surface
of the potential strategies.
Galaxy of Trian has really good music. It went really well with the
space pictures, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Babylon 5 kind of ambiance. At
least the music felt that way to me, Maybe your reaction will be
different. I did find some of the campaign levels challenging in Galaxy
of Trian. I was not always clear why I lost, especially when my score
was higher. Then I noticed I needed to do some other task to complete
the mission.
There is an online game play mode in Galaxy of Trian. I did not spend
any time playing online. I do not like playing online so I do not play
that portion of any game. In my opinion online game modes are a waste of
space in a game. I like playing with others in the local multiplayer.
Galaxy of Trian can be hard based on the strategies being employed. I
did have fun playing tiles.
The more players the are in Galaxy of Trian the more challenging it can
be to win. It can be really difficult to complete a circle of planets. I
liked researching and having emissaries in Galaxy of Trian. I ran into
one odd glitch in Galaxy of Trian. This PC game locks up whenever I
complete the final campaign. I had to shut the game down and bring it
back up. Then pick a different option because every single time I tried
to finish that final campaign it just locked up.
