Independence Day Resurgence
SCORE: 60
I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming purchased a copy of
Independence Day Resurgence during the Black Friday sales. This sequel
to the original Independence Day movie brings back a lot of the original
cast. They have all definitely aged. There are newer younger hero
characters added to Independence Day Resurgence as well. Liam Hemsworth
does a good job portraying Jake Morrison.
Independence Day Resurgence goes all Holly Weird with multi-culturalism.
It is like they have a check list and make sure they hit all of the
marks before making the movie. Independence Day Resurgence also follows
the plot of the last movie. There are a few twists and turns here and
there. Independence Day Resurgence leaves room for a sequel. Making this
franchise go all Star Trek.
The bonus content in Independence Day Resurgence is Deleted Scenes,
Director Audio Commentary, The War of 1996, Gag Reel, and It's Early
ABQ. That last one is offensive on so many levels. Independence Day
Resurgence contains violence, death, blood, gore, bad language, and
more. The aliens are back bigger and badder in Independence Day
Resurgence.
The best part of Independence Day Resurgence for me is seeing all of the
cool new technology mankind came up with thanks to the alien invasion.
Sadly that is too short lived. The defenses of the planet Earth are
pathetic to say the least. Too bad they did not think bigger when it
comes to the aliens returning. There is plenty of action in Independence
Day Resurgence.
Independence Day Resurgence takes some time to get going. A lot of this
movie feels like disconnected scenes that are put together. There are
also parts of Independence Day Resurgence that made no sense to me.
There is a call to evacuate the moon right before the moon base is shot
by the alien ship. How far will anyone get? Where will they go? The
destruction to Earth is almost catastrophic in Independence Day
Resurgence.
