Jupiter Ascending
SCORE: 55
As we close in on Black Friday this year I am working diligently to
get through my piles of products that have not been reviewed. Many of
the movies and TV shows I have watched before but did not review them
right away. So I have to go back and watch them again to do the review.
That is exactly what happened with Jupiter Ascending on Blu-ray and DVD.
Channing Tatum, and Mila Kunis headline this movie.
The bad content in Jupiter Ascending is violence, explosions, death,
enticement to lust, nudity, bad language, religious teachings of
reincarnation, and more. There is some deadly politics in Jupiter
Ascending. There is death in Jupiter Ascending on a massive scale.
Humans are created on planets to be harvested for a drug that allows the
wealthy in the galaxy to live forever. They can be killed though. They
just will not age or die from natural causes.
There are some cool technologies and amazing chase scenes in Jupiter
Ascending. There are three different factions after the girl Jupiter.
Since she has the genetic markers of the dead queen. The dead queen's
three children are fighting to get Jupiter under their control. They
each want different things from her. The majority want her dead in some
fashion or form.
Jupiter Ascending spends a lot of its time playing around the edges of a
very important question. What is the value of life? Plenty of people in
our day and age have a low value of life, especially with mass genocides
happening to babies before they can be fully born. Then the evil
religious belief of evolution has also de-valued life. As a Christian I
believe God made each of us special, and there is value to each humans
on this planet.
The level of bureaucracy in Jupiter Ascending is insane. The wickedness
of some of the people who have lived for so many millennia is a good
reason why we humans should not live that long. There is a definite
class system in Jupiter Ascending. The genetic splicing of different
animals with humans is one of the most disturbing things in Jupiter
Ascending for me. Sure there are plenty of other disturbing aspects.
Playing God is right up there.
