Kerbal Space Program

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Kerbal Space Program on the Playstation 4. This rocket launching video game was a 2.7 gig download. Kerbal Space Program also appears on the PC, Xbox One, and will appear on the Wii U. The layout in Kerbal Space Program shows its PC origins and roots. Families will need to get close to the screen to read some of the small words.

Kerbal Space Program contains three main modes. They are Sandbox, Science, and Career. I spent most of my time in Career learning how to launch rockets into space, and the aerodynamics. I learned a lot about rockets while playing Kerbal Space Program. Others here at Family Friendly Gaming came by with suggestions. At one point I told someone what they were attempting to do was not rocket science. They retorted with: "no actually it is." That is when it hit me. Kerbal Space Program teaches us about rocket science. In a fun way too.

The more I played Kerbal Space Program the more I liked it. I learned a lot and enjoyed doing it. The controls were a bit strange, and the tutorial crashed on me when I tried to save it. Kerbal Space Program also crashed on me the first time I tried to play it. After that this deep game was much more stable. It can be fun to watch the Kerbal pilot while the rocket is flying through the air.

I learned early on that a parachute was very important in Kerbal Space Program. Why? Your rocket will eventually have to go back down. Hopefully you land it in a way that allows it be recovered. I did have some explosions from mistakes I made in Kerbal Space Program. I have a tip for Family Friendly Gaming Universe. Change your funds early on in Kerbal Space Program so it is easier.

The music in Kerbal Space Program is nice. I ran into a few graphical glitches here and there. I also messed up a few rockets and had to remove parts. Putting multiple pieces of a ship on the same rocket was pretty cool. I loved unlocking new content after a gyroscope spinning descent from all those miles up. The weight limit on certain launch pads became my biggest bane.

I hope to see a physical copy of Kerbal Space Program in the future. I enjoyed my time with this game. Kerbal Space Program made me think, and design. Some of the designs are funny failures. Others brought me to the same solutions that real world rocket builders use. Progression can be slow in Kerbal Space Program. If you really mess up a launch press the Options button on the PS4 controller to rewind back to building of the craft.
