Madden NFL 06
SCORE: 81
When I saw all those different Madden NFL video games from before the
start of Family Friendly Gaming I was excited to purchase them on the
Gamecube. Of the three main consoles in that generation (PS2, Xbox, and
Gamecube) I liked the Gamecube the best. Memory was a problem, and it is
shown in the videos we have done. Why does Madden NFL 06 need more than
an entire memory card? Larger memory cards have to be purchased to save
your games.
The core of Madden NFL 06 is passing, and the quarterback's vision.
There is a light coming from the quarterback to show what he can see.
This of course tells the defense where he plans on throwing as well. The
light can be moved around the screen, and has to for the quarterback to
find an open receiver. Which takes more time and allows the rush to get
to the quarterback faster.
Running in Madden NFL 06 is frustrating. I adjusted the difficulty
setting to make Madden NFL 06 easier to play. It still was not a breeze.
Madden NFL 06 is a difficult Madden NFL video game to play. This passing
mechanic did not make it into future Madden NFL games. That should tell
you something. The kicking system in Madden NFL 06 is also broken.
The character creation in Madden NFL 06 is odd at best. Four family
members can enjoy Madden NFL 06. The graphics look okay for the era. Not
much improvement from past games. The sounds in Madden NFL 06 can be
offensive depending upon the song playing. The announcers are okay. The
offensive songs can be turned off which is quite handy for families.
The European teams can be found in Madden NFL 06. That is pretty neat. I
had fun playing Madden NFL 06 on the Gamecube. With all of its problems,
and glitches this home console video game still has the feeling of
football. The game could have left out the self promotion in my personal
opinion. I wish running was supported more in Madden NFL 06 too. I
appreciate challenges working in Madden NFL 06.
