The EA PR and Marketing completely failed us. I am very thankful that
Family Friendly Gaming stepped up and did the right thing for the
millions of readers in spite of the EA failure. I am thankful Family
Friendly Gaming purchased a copy of NBA Live 16 on the Xbox One. I only
wish they had only spent ten dollars on this sports video game because
that is about all it is worth.
NBA Live 16 is horrible in the offline game modes. EA is neglecting
offline gamers, and psychotically obsessing over the extremely expensive
online game modes. It is so frustrating to see a company like EA refuse
to listen to what family gamers want. Obviously they do not want your
money. They must also want their failures to expand to other regions of
their business. Modes like Ultimate Team can only be played online. How
lame is that? It is like someone attacking Biblical marriage.
NBA Live 16 has made some minor upgrades over NBA Live 15. The intro
game can be skipped now. That is fantastic to see. The game play in NBA
Live 16 feels more real. I like the little clock that tells players they
need to get the ball thrown in, and across half court. I wish that was
also there for the twenty-four second clock. We hear it ticking but not
always clear how much time is left without taking our eyes off the
action.
Players have a percentage of making a shot. Whether it is contested or
not will increase or decrease that percentage. Just because someone is
an 88% foul shooter does not mean it is an automatic make. Even with
hitting the bar perfectly when taking the shot. I had foul shooters
making it 50% of the time even though they were in the high eighties. I
saw three point shots make it at 21% and miss at 65%.
NBA Live 16 looks really nice graphically. Sadly the game modes are very
shallow and meaningless. There is a facial app if you want to put your
own face into the game. The danger of doing so is to put yourself at a
security risk. The ESRB failed again to reference offensive lyrics in
NBA Live 16. All of the music can be turned off thankfully. It is a bit
of a pain to find where to turn off the offensive music though.
There are no classic teams in NBA Live 16. So for some people there are
no teams in NBA Live 16 they will like. Would it be that hard EA to give
us the stolen Seattle Supersonics? NBA Live 16 has lag, and long loading
times. The announcers are more creative in NBA Live 16 than NBA 2K16.
Rising Star is a mess. I would do stuff and not get the points for it. I
would get dinged for not covering my guy - thing is they wanted me to
magically go from the top of the key to the hoop. Why? The game decided
I needed to swap players with no way of doing it.
