Overcooked
SCORE: 64
Did you read the official Family Friendly Gaming preview for
Overcooked? If you did then you know what I am going to say about
Overcooked on Steam. None of the issues I mentioned were addressed after
Family Friendly Gaming was told the game updated and we could work on a
review. The timing issues are still horrible. How hard is it to add an
option so families can adjust the timer?
I really hoped Overcooked was going to be the next Order Up. I love
playing Order Up. That cooking game is fun, fresh, and has a learning
curve that all skill sets can play. If you want to make progress in
Overcooked you will need to be a mega twelve level hardcore gamer with
octopus hands and fingers. Casual gamers are excluded from playing
Overcooked.
Overcooked does not give gamers enough time to do things. Then what we
do accomplish does not give us enough stars. It seems there would be an
easy way to fix that. Neither the developer or the publisher are paying
for these tips that can make them thousands upon thousands of more
dollars. Maybe they don't want to. Maybe they want an exclusionary game
that limits sales.
The graphics in Overcooked are nice. They remind me of Order Up. They
are a bit smaller in Overcooked. There are some interesting levels in
Overcooked like a pirate ship. Why are we cooking there? This digital
downloadable only video game does not explain it. We are trying to get
better at cutting, cooking, plating, and cleaning the plates. Why? So we
can stop the destruction of the kingdom.
The story in Overcooked is a bit corny. Which is fine with me. I don't
mind that at all. I like the local multiplayer in Overcooked. Family
Friendly Gaming did not have enough PC controllers to participate in
that though. I believe Overcooked would work better on the Wii U,
Playstation 4, and Xbox One. There I go again, giving them free advice
that will translate into more money for them.
