Pinball Arcade
SCORE: 64
I have a story to tell all ya'll. We ran with some pictures and
coverage of Pinball Arcade on the Wii U. I thought it was a set number
of pinball tables like Zen Studios does. To my surprise Pinball Arcade
is a download that costs nothing from the Nintendo eShop. Internet usage
fees apply to the 1.7 gig file. Then you can purchase seasons. Family
Friendly Gaming was provided four seasons in Pinball Arcade.
Initially I was going to have different people here at Family Friendly
Gaming play and review the different seasons in Pinball Arcade. It would
have come out to four reviews on different tables. Once we had used the
download codes for all four seasons I noticed something. There is no
easy way within Pinball Arcade to tell which pinball tables belong to
which seasons. Then I realized one review makes the most sense.
There are sixty-one pinball tables in the four seasons of Pinball
Arcade. Which is an insane amount of tables. They range from the Circus
to Star Trek the Next Generation. I noticed Williams quite a bit while
playing Pinball Arcade. They made some of the most notable pinball
tables of all time. If it wasn't for video games pinball might still be
a really big thing in arcades.
Normally I am all about the physical copies. I wish Pinball Arcade came
in a physical copy format at retail. The real true physical copy of
Pinball Arcade is in the authentic and genuine pinball tables. Those
take up space, and are very expensive. If I understood Nintendo
correctly it costs $39.99 for each season within Pinball Arcade. Which
is definitely cheaper than the real pinball tables. And it takes up less
physical space. May need to make some room on your Wii U hard drive.
With so many different tables there are a variety of issues families
will want to be aware of. From enticement to lust, lack of attire,
violence, language, to mythical creatures like vampires, and genies.
Some of the robot characters were a bit strange in Pinball Arcade. There
is history of the tables, and flyer advertisements for the tables
included in Pinball Arcade. Daring families can try the difficult
challenges.
I found some tables in Pinball Arcade are awesome. Others seem designed
to have the ball fall right down the middle between the flippers. There
are a variety of styles of pinball tables in Pinball Arcade too. I liked
being able to pick custom pinball's, and to hear the music from the
original franchises. Some of them even have sound bytes. For me Pinball
Arcade is like going to a cool history class.
