PocketSheep

I am exceptionally thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for PocketSheep on the iPad/iPhone. This is a fun and clever little downloadable hand held video game with thirty levels. Families can play play PocketSheep in easy, medium and hard modes. Each time you beat one of the levels (for the first time) in each of those three modes you will get a cute sheep card. The sheep have different professions in those cards like a fire fighter.

PocketSheep has a child mode which makes the game easier. In fact there are multiple options that make PocketSheep easier in child mode. The amount of the sheep can be dropped to one, and the sheep won't get hurt by lava, and the sheep will not fall of the edges of the map. As a reviewer I found this mode to be very beneficial. Who doesn't like being able to beat a game faster.

The finger controls in PocketSheep work really well. The sheep will move away from your finger. Players can use two fingers at a time to herd the sheep in the right direction. The maps in PocketSheep get tough if you play this game in regular mode. Sheep will fall off the edges and respawn back at beginning. Or they will get hit by lava. Which is a really bad thing for a fluffy sheep.

I had a good time playing PocketSheep. I know the game play mechanic is not the newest thing on the market. It is however applied in a really good way in this app. The one issue I had with PocketSheep in terms of controls is not being able to see a sheep. If the sheep was right under my finger it might go the wrong direction without me being aware. This seems to more of an issue with touch only controls on the device.

I hope to see more games like PocketSheep in the future. I love how this app is thoughtful of children, and casual gamers. If you want a challenge, then you can get it. If you don't then go into the options and put the game in childs mode. This resonates really well here at Family Friendly Gaming. The cards are a neat extra in PocketSheep. The music in PocketSheep is nice. The graphics look good as well, albeit a bit small in the game play levels.
