Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
SCORE: 62
The day of the randomly generated mystery dungeon video games needs
to end. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon ends up being a boring mess. The
random generation of the dungeons means you may spawn in a room with the
stairs to the next level. Or it may be in the last room you check on a
floor. The level design feels lazy in some of the dungeons. Plus it
feels like a skin swap between different dungeons.
Another way of saying it is this - every dungeon feels the same in
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Which might be okay if the controls were
a bit better. I hate having a limit on how many items I can carry. Which
means I wound up leaving so many items in the dungeons. Unless I sold
everything and went into dungeons with nothing. Which is not helpful
when you need elixir to restore the few attacks your character has, and
food for the stomach.
The controls are loose in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. This hand held
video game also teaches the religious belief of evolution. The saves are
few and far between until you can save up a massive amount of money to
save within a dungeon. It is easy to die in Pokemon Super Mystery
Dungeon. So expect to spend plenty of time grinding in this Nintendo 3DS
hand held video game.
The storyline in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is recycled. The
randomization of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon winds up hurting it. The
controls in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon are loose. The small graphics
do not help trying to figure out if your Pokemon is facing the right
direction. Don't get me started on pushing Pokemon around and not being
able to help in a small hallway.
There are 720 different Pokemon in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. If you
are into a lot of different Pokemon in the Mystery Dungeon game play
style then you might not be bored with Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. I
was bored to tears with the same storyline (human becoming a Pokemon),
and the lack of continuity in the dungeons. Nintendo needs to step up
their game and stop being so lazy. Especially when they charge so much
money for this game.
I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming purchased a copy of Pokemon Super
Mystery Dungeon on the Nintendo 3DS. The PR and Marketing for Nintendo
continue their failures, so it is neat to see someone step up to the
plate and do the right thing. I do not recommend Pokemon Super Mystery
Dungeon. Pass on this hand held video game for something better.
