Red Baron Pack

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Red Baron Pack on Steam. This Personal Computer (PC) video game contains Red Baron and Red Baron 3D. Those were physical copy releases back in 1990, and 1998. Now in the year of our Lord 2016 these two games have been packaged together and released in the dreaded digital download format.

I think there was a missed opportunity here. A new physical copy release could have included some cool things for gamers to touch and feel. Retro has been rage in recent years so Red Baron Pack fits into that mold. Trust me Red Baron Pack has the retro graphics down. I did not play the Red Baron, or Red Baron 3D when they first came out. I have now and can see their charm.

I read on the Steam help page for Red Baron Pack that some people had issues with the games crashing. I did not run into that problem here at Family Friendly Gaming. The blocky graphics will either freak you out, or make you laugh. The controls can be touchy at times. Especially if you get a wing shot by another World War One pilot. Being able to play the British or Germans is neat.

There are numerous modes to keep retro gamers happy. Some people have complained about the price of Red Baron Pack on Steam, especially when it is compared to used physical copies of these games. I would like Red Baron Pack to be a bit more competitive in the pricing area. I also know many of the members of Family Friendly Gaming Universe go out and purchase physical copy versions of retro games.

I laughed frequently when I played Red Baron Pack. The retro graphics made it hard to see what things were. So I would take a closer look, and usually wind up crashing. Dog fighting can be challenging in Red Baron Pack. It takes practice and patience to get good at Red Baron Pack. Start with weaker opponents. It is also smart to turn off stalling, and gun jams in the options screen.
