Rubik’s Cube

Do you know what one of the coolest things is about summer for me? It is getting to play more games for Family Friendly Gaming. FFG was provided a download code for Rubik’s Cube on the Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS. This game contains the 2x2x2 cube, and the 3x3x3 cube. There is also some educational value to this digital downloadable only video game. Families can learn a bit about the Rubik’s Cube. There is even interactive training in Rubik’s Cube.

This is not the first Rubik’s Cube based video game. I remember playing some other ones in the past. Rubik’s Cube is like an interactive digital version of the physical object. I am sure there is someone out there asking this question - "why buy a digital version of Rubik’s Cube when I can get a physical one?" After all the physical version can be found for about the same price. I do not have a good immediate answer to that question. I suppose it is preference.

The controls in Rubik’s Cube took some time to adapt to. At times I wanted to move the cube around, and instead rotated some of the pieces. Thankfully Rubik’s Cube comes with a back button. So I could reverse any mistaken moves. There is a certain pattern to completing the puzzles in a Rubik’s Cube. I wish the pyramid version was included in Rubik’s Cube.

In the real world a Rubik’s Cube can be taken apart and fixed that way. I did not find a way to do that in Rubik’s Cube on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Rubik’s Cube on the 3DS and Wii U does come with the 2x2x2 and the 3x3x3 sizes. So that is a way families can save a bit of cash. I like the music in Rubik’s Cube. Something else not included with the physical version of the Rubik’s Cube.

Rubik’s Cube is a family friendly video game. Expect some touchy controls in there, as well as some difficult puzzles to solve. Going through the tutorial will help train your family on how to beat the puzzles in Rubik’s Cube. If you get totally stuck then you can start over. I did not find any kind of a hint button in Rubik’s Cube to suggest the next best move. That would be been really cool if it had been included.
